1. Information we collect
Account information
Email address, display name, Firebase authentication identifiers, account status, and Premium entitlement status.
Family and baby-care information
Family membership, invite codes, baby names or labels, caregiver display names, event types and optional details, timestamps, shift windows, edits, family preferences, custom events, fairness settings, summaries, reports, recommendations, and insights generated from logged events.
Family data is shared with authenticated members of the same linked BabyShift family so collaborative care features work.
Notifications and device information
If notifications are enabled, BabyShift stores a push token and device notification preferences to deliver partner activity alerts.
Purchases
Apple or Google processes subscription payments. BabyShift does not receive your full payment-card number. We store relevant platform, product, purchase-state, expiration, verification, and entitlement information to enable or restore Premium.
Product analytics
BabyShift uses privacy-conscious analytics for reliability and feature improvement. Analytics are designed to exclude baby names, caregiver names, emails, invite codes, private notes, medication details, exact care details, and account IDs. BabyShift does not use analytics for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Photos and sharing
BabyShift may request permission to add a generated report image to your photo library. It does not need access to existing photos for this feature. Information shared through the native share sheet is handled by the destination you choose.
2. How we use information
- Create and authenticate accounts.
- Create, join, and manage families.
- Sync care events between linked caregivers.
- Provide timelines, reports, recommendations, insights, and Premium features.
- Send notifications when enabled.
- Maintain security, prevent misuse, debug problems, and improve reliability.
- Respond to support requests and meet legal obligations.
3. How information is shared
BabyShift does not sell personal information. Information is shared only with linked family members; service providers needed to operate the app; Apple or Google for distribution and purchases; when required by law or necessary to protect rights and security; or as part of a business transfer.
4. Service providers
BabyShift currently uses Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Cloud Functions, Firebase Analytics, Apple App Store and StoreKit services, and Google Play services. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
5. Data retention and deletion
Information is retained as needed to provide BabyShift, preserve collaborative family history, maintain purchase integrity, secure the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
When an account is deleted, the login, private profile, active membership, notification devices, and applicable entitlement records are removed or anonymized. Shared family care history may remain for another linked caregiver, with the deleted caregiver relabeled as a former parent. See the account deletion page for steps and details.
6. Your choices
- Update supported account and family information in the app.
- Disable notifications in BabyShift or device settings.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple or Google.
- Leave a linked family.
- Delete your account in BabyShift Settings or request help by email.
7. Security
BabyShift uses authentication, access controls, server-authoritative Premium verification, and platform security measures intended to protect information. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Children’s privacy
BabyShift is intended for adult parents and caregivers. It is not directed to children and does not allow children to create accounts. Adults may enter baby-care information as part of family coordination.
9. International processing
Service providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Privacy protections may differ from those in your location.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as BabyShift changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
